The National Science Foundation (NSF) presently supports a fleet of four research aircraft. The two airplanes in this image, the Gulfstream V on the left and the C-130 on the right are housed at the Research Aviation Facility (RAF) located at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, Colorado. They are used by the research community in a variety of weather, climate, and air chemistry studies. RAF is part of the Atmospheric Technology Division of the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
